Rainbow Six: Lockdown was the first game in the series to vastly change from mainly realism to become very arcadey in comparison. It was still fairly popular, but resented by many previous Rainbow Six fans, so much so many nicknamed it "Rainbow Six: Letdown".
Graphics
Rainbow Six: Lockdown was the first game in the franchise to feature normal mapping, and specular lighting. Also physics objects. Gameplay
The gameplay in lockdown ditched the classic Rainbow Six, tactical gameplay and as a result, it made it more of a generic first person shooter. The player controls Ding Chavez and leads a single squad through all of the missions. The player can issue orders to the squad, such as room clearing commands. The games combat is a lot more forgiving then the other games due to being able to take many shots before dying, enemies can also take many shots before dying. Health is unable to be restored.
