Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow

Menu

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow is the successful expansion to Rainbow Six 3. Multiplayer updates like "Retrieval" and split screen coop play help distinguish Black Arrow from its predecessors.

Multiplayer

Black Arrow's online multiplayer was very popular during its time in the spotlight. Fans of the original Rainbow Six: 3 did not need to worry about the sequel screwing with the simple and satisfying formula. It is because of this that the expansion Black Arrow was not critically acclaimed as its predecessor. However, that did not deter newcoming gamers to the series. Clanmatch functionality and new multiplayer modes were thought of icing on the cake by true fans of the series. Others viewed these add-ons as too simple and rushed. Black Arrow's core fanbase was more than pleased and newcomers were introduced to a great modern military shooter.
The most popular game mode was Team Survival. Red team Vs Green team, each player with only one life and no respawns. The game can hold the standard 16 players, however, (like most games) a full 16 player server is a bit too frentic. In Black Arrow, a max 12 person server was the sweet spot for all maps. The most popular are Cafe, Airport, Back Alleys, Garage, Killhouse, Office Complex, Presidio, and Subway. Some hosts prefer to cycle through these maps occasionally to switch it up a bit. The beuty with Black Arrow is that its community does not feel the need to change maps very frequently. Game rounds are very satisfying and the these maps never get old when playing with entertaining friends and opponents. This game is just one member of a pretty small club that benefits from having voice chat. Infact, hosts boot player who do not have their mic plugged into the controler.
The name of the game is either "rush" or find a sweet spot and camp it out. Thankfully the maps are generally small to medium in size and hosts refrain from puting long round times. The game plays at its best with the following criteria. First and foremost is a "Good" host. These "good" hosts will be stern and inform players to not use tear gas grenades; (it justs hogs up equipment space). A good host will also turn grenade launchers off and and "boot" annoying, and cheating players.

Note:
The original "Rainbow Six: 3," had a glitch called "Open Leaning." This gave the player an invisible wall infront of the player every time he/she leaned. Thankfully, the Black Arrow does not have this glitch but there are still ways to get out of a map and shoot players from long distances.

The most popular gun of choice was the G3A3 or other guns with similar attributes. Experienced players would journey off and use new weapons but a majority of players will usually stick with their favorite automatic rifle. Asking players what the best gun to use, they would generally respond with these, AK47, M16, Famas, G3A3, and MP5.
Secondary weapons should be all grenades or for more experienced players, a couple of remote mines. Grenades are vital for both offensive and defensive tactics.Grenades in Black Arrow can be cooked forever, that is untill upon release. This adds another layer of control fraggin entertainment.
Recently, the Rainbow Six series has drastically changed its presentation by adding new gameplay mechanics. Some like the new gameplay features and have aquired newer generation of gamers, however there is still a large audiance that wants to see a revised version of the previous Rainbow Six titles.
